![]() Taijiquan Instructor at Xin Ying Wushu Training Center Singapore ![]() Ms May Tan Mui Buay is a well-known teacher of Taijiquan in Singapore who has won a large number of medals for Singapore in international competitions. At present, she has stepped back from the front line of competition to work for the promotion and spread of martial arts and the training of new Taijiquan competitors and instructors. Throughout her ten years as a competition athlete, she has retained a leading position in the Taijiquan category. Her most outstanding achievement was winning the gold medal in the Taijiquan category in the 17th Southeast Asian Games in 1993 and the bronze medal in the Hiroshima Asian Games of 1994. In addition, she was given an Award of Merit by the Singapore Olympic Council in 1992, 1993 and 1994 and ranked as an elite-grade athlete by the Singapore Sports Council. Tan Mui Buay's success is a result of her deep dedication to the art of Taijiquan, her indomitable will, and her unfailing persistence and determination. She has also been fortunate to receive meticulous instruction from a large number of accomplished Taijiquan masters. On addition to Taijiquan, she has also studied other schools of Chinese boxing in order to complement and deepen her practice of Taijiquan.
